E1 – Local campaigns to support the measures
Key landowners will be targeted – their understanding of the aims of this project as well as their cooperation are indispensable. The targeted groups will be: owners of the agricultural lands, local farmers, other users of the land (villages, watercourse managers, etc). Presentation of the project will take place on several levels of the media, specific events will be prepared for specific targeted groups.
Status: Completed in March 2017
►Outputs: 20 mobile information panels have been manufactured and placed on-site. These panels inform on the management in progress, are focused on broad public, especially families with children. A leaflet on the project has been created and had to be reprinted due to its popularity.
Individual meetings with the landowners and land leaseholders have taken place. Employees of the project took part in 9 local event where they presented the activities of the project. So far, 45 articles have been published on this project. In the previous period, 12 press releases have been issued on the project. Information panels on the project were manufactured at the end of 2014 and in installed in June 2015. Permanent info-panels with the basic information on the project have been placed in the partners’ buildings. Leaflets based on marketing strategy were printed in March 2017.
E2 – Information campaign supporting the habitats 6230*, 6510, 6520 in SCI - Krkonoše
Expert seminars with practical on-site demonstrations will be organized. A manual has been released for agricultural workers for performance of selected types of less common forms of land management.
Status: Completed in December 2016
►Outputs: Suitable venues have been selected for the seminars. In June 2014 a public seminar “Jak Krakonoš učil Kubu kosit” took place; attendants learned about the traditional form of hay production using manual labour. In October 2014, expert workshop for nature protection professionals and state administrative representatives took place – “Louky v naději”. On June 30th 2015, we issued a manual for farmers called “Pestrolučník krkonošský”, which was reedited in 2016. Farmer Portal course was supported by us in 2015. There was a meeting with farmer - "autumn meadow care" in october 2015, followed by a summer meeting in July 2016. We also organized a conference on AEKO 2014-2020.
E3 – Experience Exchange – networking of LIFE+ projects
As part of this activity, new relationships will be made with the expert problem-solvers focused on problems within the Czech Republic and other European countries. This will result in bringing in experience which is a priority for innovative solutions.
Status: Completed
►Outputs: In May 2013 a round-table meeting took place between the representatives of the national coordination LIFE site. A day-long discussion brought together representatives of the project team and representative of other LIFE project which are being implemented in the Czech Republic. Project employees took part in three study trips: to the project in the National Park Burren (BURREN LIFE – LIFE04/NAT/IE/125); and a project focused on management of moist meadows - Foder och Fägring (LIFE08/NAT/S/262) and in 2017, we were on study trip to the Austrian Alps. In the CR we visited projects LIFE Rupicolous (LIFE04 NAT/CZ/000015), LIFE Motýli ČR - SR (LIFE09 NAT/CZ/000364) and Záchrana smilkových trávníků v EVL Beskydy (LIFE12 NAT/CZ/000629).
E4 – Spreading the results of the project
This activity includes creation and management of websites. We are also planning to create an extended manual for small watercourses including a realization of 2 workshops for this topic. Individual enclaves will be presented on postcards with the “meadow enclaves” theme. We will present the results of the project in professional environments in the Czech Republic and the EU using media and the public.
Status: Completed according to the schedule (web sites and facebook updates are still ongoing after the project is over).
►Outputs: We continually amend the website life.krnap.cz. Partial results of the project have been presented at 7 professional gatherings and 4 events abroad. The project has been presented at 4 seminars organized by a National contact site as part of the information exchange within LIFE+ programs. A poster has been prepared for presentation at conferences. Postcards have been issued. At the beginning of November 2016, a workshop about bullhead was held, the second one was in April 2017. We issued postcards. In 2017 a professional publication about bullhead and meadows were prepared. We have released the Laymans Report.
