Workshop about Bullhead
We organized a two-day workshop focused on water management in the framework of the project activities of Vranka (A6 and C7).
The first theoretical part was held on 24.10.2016 in the Conference Room of the Czech Fishing Union, local organization Vrchlabí, Krkonošská 155, 543 01 Vrchlabí, where the presentation of the problem of support for established populations of trout through the incubation of eggs in incubation boxes was presented. This management for the support of established stocks of trout or hake should contribute to the maintenance of viable populations that have been affected in the past by genetically
non-native fish, whose ability to survive and reproduce in a specific environment of Krkonoše flows is often limited. For reasons of food competition and pressure from sport fishing, it is desirable to pay attention to populations that have been least affected by fisheries management in the past and retained the ability to frictionally migrate and reproduce naturally in local streams. "
The second practical part was held on 11.11.2016 in Sádky of the Czech Fishing Union, local village Vrchlabí, near the Vrchlabský pond, where a briefing was carried out to fill incubation boxes with eggs and install them. Everything was realized in the artificial conditions of the flow chambers of a collection simulating the flow channel.
