Bullhead

Bullhead (Cottus gobio)

The Bullhead is small fish, witch lives in the cleanest streams in the Krkonoše Mountains.
It’s a bioindicator species. The Bullhead feeds
on aquatic invertebrates. Most of you will be
surprised that its populations are stagnant.
Lots of factors can be responsible for the
elimination of bullhead populations,
especially insensitive modification of water flows and pollution.

Within the project we are looking for
legislative and technical solutions to these problems.

Therefore we expect cooperation with administrators of flows, the Czech Fishing Union and other relevant organizations or individuals. We expect the bullhead populations to grow by hundreds of individuals after the implementation of protective measures.
